Johnsonville has long been known as the king of sausages. To me it makes perfect sense that they design a grill that is made to grill their sausages to perfection. That time has come, may I introduce you to the:
Johnsonville Sizzling Sausage Grill.
The Sizzling Sausage Grill was built to cook sausage, so let’s take a look at what makes this portable grill special. The Sizzling Sausage Grill can cook up to 5 sausages at a time. What’s even better is that it has an internal temperature probe that goes into the middle sausage to ‘ding’ and cut the grill off when the sausages are cooked to perfection. The grill comes in a Black/Stainless design and is powered by your standard home electrical plug.
The Sizzling Sausage Grill came in the mail and it unboxed nicely. I went up to the store to pick up a 5 pack of Johnsonville sauages and then it was time to put the grill to the test. I loaded the Sizzling Sausage Grill with 5 sausages, I then closed and locked the lid. To start the process you press the red button and let the Sizzling Sausage Grill come to life. Within minutes it was SIZZLING and you could start to smell the aroma of delicious sausage in the air. The claim is that all sausages will cook in 10-15 minutes. In my test it took 18 minutes, but to be fair I did open the grill one time to show my fans on Facebook Live the initial trial run of this cool prodct from Johnsonville. At the 18 minute mark it DINGED and the red light went off. This is a great feature, so you never over, or undercook your sausage. Two wish list items on the grill would be an external thermometer to see the internal temp and a slightly longer power cord.
Next up, it was time to eat. As I prepared to serve I noticed that there was still a sizzle coming from the grill, so serving these with the sizzle and great smell was top notch. The sausages were cooked to perfection and everyone was impressed with the sausage dogs that were served that evening.
Ok, grilling and eating are fun, but clean up? Well the Johnsonville Sizzling Sausage grill also has easy clean up. Both of the burner plates detach, so you can wash by hand or put in the dishwasher. The drip tray attaches to the grill and you can also rinse and throw it in the dishwasher. Clean up completed!
PROS: perfect for sausages, internal temperature probe to cut off when cooked to perfection, looks great
CONS: longer power cord would be nice, external temperature display would also be nice. If you tailgate you’ll need an electrical power supply to use.
